I went to the 1996 WorldCon in Anaheim California. It was both a fantastic, and troubled time for me.

Past conventions in San Joe told me that I should go down a couple days ahead of time. I made the trip in good time. But, I had some problems with the hotel the day before the convention. But, the room was fantastic. Right next to the pool. But, the floor plan was soo odd, that hardly anyone could find my party room on Thursday, Friday or Saturday.

On Wendsday, i spent the whole day getting my room ready for partying. And watching that special channel they have the broadcasts Asian programs. Plus, assembling Crow, Tom and Gypsy that I spent most of three months putting together. And which I pulled around in the halls of the convention.

Thursday was the beginning of the convention, and I dressed in my
WIZARD of SPEED and TIME outfit, pulling the robots from MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000 behind me.. From coming out of the hotel, tight to the convention center which was right across the street. I had never had soo many people ask for my picture. On that day, I was interviewed by the SCI-FI CHANNEL, DISCOVERY, Australia TV, the BBC and the LA Times.

There was a 'party' after the opening ceremonies, called the Ice Cream Social. Which I found out is somewhat common in the L.A. area. You set up a table and promote your club or organization. I tried to promote the TransMasters, but the club next to me; "The BUCCANEERS". had this thing where you went fishing for rubber rats. The line almost totally obscured my table. Plus, I had no power to plug my tv and VCR in so I could shoe episodes of the TRANSFORMERS from Japan.

But, the party room I had on Thursday and Friday was a bigger success than I had at either TIMECON or Anime America. People came in for the parodies I was showing, they stayed for only a few moments. I had also set out my storyboards for my TRANSFORMER crossover (See Animation). I also brought my newly acquired Amiga 2500, displaying my graphics. Although the regulars were somewhat impressed, it was the group from Japan that were in almost total awe of the sheer volume of what I had to offer.

Friday, I decided to leave the bots at the room, because they were like pulling around a truck. But, I did get in some shopping, getting a few moles and magazines. Plus, meeting Marion Zimmer Bradley in person. And thanking her for her for the nicest rejection letter I have ever gotten.

Saturday was the busiest time of all. I spent part of Friday night putting a costume on the bots. And we went through the halls as the characters from my arcade parody:
"MST-3Kombat" There was a guy dressed up in a Sub-Zero outfit, from MKII, and I go a couple of pictures with him. I also met Ray Bradburry who was touring the halls. He said: "I can't believe what I'm seeing." Then I replied: "Well, we can make you believe."

Saturday was also the masquerade. I dressed in my
CHRONOBOT outfit (No Picture at this time.), and entered in the novice division. There was suppose to be over 48 entries. But when it came down to curtain time, there were only 13 of us. There was over 20 n one group. And, for those of you who know the masquerade procedure, my DEN was the only one that had the least amount of group participants. I, was basically the only one who was by myself. Accept for this guy who dressed up as Mott from STAR TREK DS-9. Although I didnšt win any workmanship awards, I did win best in class.
During the photographer's opportunity, I was told the convention's photographer told me that my picture was the most requested. (In some ways, it's hard to believe.)

On Sunday, I decided to go mundane, because I was nearly exhausted by the pulling of the bots, so I need a rest. And I was extatic to find out that Alliance was having a
BEAST WARS TRANSFORMERS preview. I attended that panel without reservation. I really did like what I saw.

On Monday, it was time to go home, when everyone else was doing the same. I go a Kamikaze bell hop, who put everything of mine on two carts, and almost shoved it into my car. But, leaving around noon, I didn't get home until almost 11:00 pm. Because of several bottlenecks around San Jose, and a bit of a hassle near Salinias.
